The 89th Silver Dollar Derby
The 89th Silver Dollar Derby had a great run this year! Thank you to all who joined us for this fun event! Thanks to all who helped! We are already getting ready for the 90th Silver Dollar Derby scheduled for May 15th and 16th 2021!
New Pyramid Challenge!
The Silver Dollar has thrown down the gauntlet! SDSC has put $100 in the hat and the first shooter, on the Pyramid, to break 25 with 25 shells collects the prize. Now…this pot will be progressive! Each month the prize is not claimed another $20 will be added to the pot progressive. We do expect this to get really Big!! It will be like Harry Potter catching the Golden Snitch in a quidditch match or the Browns eventually winning the Super Bowl.
The skilled shooter can claim this prize anytime shooting at an open pyramid shoot or during pyramid league competition. Will you be the one??? Only way is to come , give it a shot. Yes…Pun intended!!! The challenge begins Sunday, September20th, 2020.
By the way our money is on the shooter. Harry has caught the Snitch twice and no one bets on the Browns. Temp in hell will approach 32 before the Browns win the division let alone the Super Bowl
Open Trap is usually every other Sunday. Check the calendar for dates. Because of the Silver Dollar Derby we will have Open Trap two Sundays in a row. Oct 11 and Oct 18th from 12-3. We have been having Hot Dogs so come on out for a fun day!

Important Updates Due to Coronavirus 3/20/2020
Members of SDSC,
The board hopes all of you are well!!! As was expected we will have to postpone or cancel many events that were scheduled for the next 30 days. The April 6th monthly meeting is cancelled.
The biggest postponement will be this years Winners Trial. With Ron Burkey’s due diligence, we will have a Winner’s Trial in the Fall of 2020. The actual date to be announced. Owners and dogs that are eligible will again receive new invitations to enter the trial. Entries sent in for the April 4th trial will be voided and checks destroyed. Please direct any questions / concerns to Ron Burkey.
The NSTRA trial for March 28/29 is cancelled. We will await direction from the NSTRA national office whether this can be rescheduled. A decision for the April 11th NSTRA trial will be forthcoming. This trial stands as scheduled for the time being.
All open trap dates and Youth trap practices (Claybusters) are cancelled up to April 10. The April 25th meat shoot is cancelled, not to be rescheduled.
The Spring trap league scheduled to start March 26th is postponed. The tentative start date for the Spring League is April 16th. The board will be meeting again soon to evaluate and establish a new course if necessary. Members rest assured that the club is in great shape. The club is still open to its members. The fields, archery, and pistol ranges are all open. Please utilize them and if you don’t we will call a work party.
Stay well, stay safe, be prudent!!!!
