The Silver Dollar Sportsmen’s Club; while the name is only 4 years old, it’s predecessor the Wayne County Coon Hunters has a long and proud history as one of Wayne County’s oldest surviving conservation and sporting clubs. Since the Late 1930s The Wayne County Coon Hunters has been well known for Coon Dog Trials and Trap Shooting. The Silver Dollar Derby over its sixty years in existence has become a Nationally recognized event with participants from all over the country competing. In the 1980s the club began hosting Bird Dog Trials, and since then this has changed the dynamics of the membership. In 2014 the name was changed to better describe the club. In recent years the club has constructed a first class archery and pistol range at the club to go along with our 3 trap ranges. Opened in the summer of 2018 is a new state of the art five stand clay target range.
